On the bottom of the box, after monosodium glutamate

the food colourings Brilliant Blue (E133); Quinoline Yellow (E104); Sunset Yellow (E110); Ponceau 4R (E124); and Carmoisine (E122) are being removed from all nestle products and because there is no natural alternative to the ‘brilliant blue’ dye it means the end of the blue smartie!

whilst nostalgia causes an involuntary twinge of sadness the list of concerns such as hyperactivity, skin rashes and cancer linked to the colouring somewhat eases the blow! honestly, i think if i let myself think about the amount of weird shit in food for more than a nanosecond i would probably never eat again…

so, blue meanies after all then?
