apparantly they’ve had to start making ‘copper’ coins out of steel because the copper is actualy worth more than the face value of the coins! weird.

What does a penny buy?
US pennies are mostly made of zinc. They started that in… ’82, I think.
a penny buys absolutely bugger all! there are 100 pennies in a pound and one pound is about 50 american cents (i’m not sure how that converts elsewhere) …
you used to get ‘penny sweets’ but now they cost about 2-5p each! pah!
basically a penny is the useless bit of crap they give you back when you buy something
