My dear young lady, there was a great deal of truth, I dare say, in what you said, and you looked very pretty while you said it, which is much more important

i found a link to this article on dennison bertram’s blog in development and i thought it was a really good read worth spreading around. basically it concerns the notion of the ‘babe theory of politics’ ie: that any political movement will be more successful with a ‘babe’ upfront.. it called to mind Periel Aschenbrand’s body as billboard and allthough it talks mostly about revolutionary and protest polotics i also couldn’t help but think of rock the vote and in particular madonna’s campaign for them.

not sure where that leaves maggie though…

  1. that picture is great isn’t it..

yes, the ‘babe’ theory is of course flawed. it does of course also depend on your definition of a babe!

i only just remebered that awful pornstar la ciccolina that ran for parliament in italy. she gives me the heebee jebees. i do like the part in that article ive linked to where it says: “Formerly married to postmodern lameass and professional poseur Jeff Koons” i hate all those pictures he did with her that we are meant to consider as art. not that i’m a prude by any stretch – but they are just hideous.

    i love this quote too:

“I am here not showing my breasts. Now I am speaking about poor people so it is not necessary — not because I don’t have beautiful breasts … even now. But it’s not necessary showing because poor people have no interest in my breasts.”

    har har har…
